The end result was outstanding. The experience was clearly the right direction for something that already had far better content and visuals than an app could hope to bring.
This version was going to be quite a bit different. I wanted a more fluid content-centric design. The page-flip animation was critical. Something that made it feel like you were simply browsing through all the games out there.
And entirely responsive UI was going to have to be written to pull of the variety of devices it would be supporting. This was the first step for Game Tracking into the Android area. I wanted it to be solid.
One of the massive stumbling blocks was learning the built-in browser stacks for Android and the different versions. This caused a few design changes depending on OS level and device type. Some Android OS versions sported too early a browser stack to handle much of the dynamic gestures and animations. The resulting product was still very strong for those platforms, without hampering the best-of-breed experience that the most recent devices offered.
