Things have gotten much easier these days with Perl and OSX. I’m on Mountain Lion at this point.

 

First Install and configure CPAN. Of course, this is all Terminal stuff:

After you answer a few minutes and CPAN installs itself you will see

This is where you can go about installing things. I needed to install HOP::Lexer this go around so I’ll show those steps here

So when I first did the above I got dozens of failed to connect issues. To fix that I had to move the .cpan folder out of my home folder. Then “reinstall cpan” which sounds harder than it is:

That, at least, should be a jumpstart
